it came. it saw. it conquered. down with a case of HORRID FLUius FEVER.
ah well. as you know. i'm down with the flu. its bad. its horrible. it wont go away
it came like a thief in the night...day. i wasnt expecting it. i didnt know that the sneezing lady in front of me was so contagious. now when i think back. i can actually see flecks of spit, and battallions of bacteria charging at me. that in itself is TRAUMA. ew ew ew ew ew
so i set about the task of finding dettol. checked the store cupboard. nada. zilch. then i checked my mums bathroom cupboard. once again, the search proved futile. so i checked my mums rooms cupboard. none. getting more and more desperate by the minute i searched my ROOM cupboard. (a wonder, considering i had to get round the piles of clothes just absentmindedly tossed all over the place) after that physically demanding feat i had to garner enough strength to climb up to look. but my efforts were naught. couldnt find any there neither.
at wits end, i checked with my maid. this is the full conversation that i have mentally recorded.
me : "eni! have you seen the dettol, i swear i saw it in the toilet today"
eni : "oh dettol arh? you go check in chance's (my puppy) basket"
me :" why would DETTOL be in chance's basket?1"
eni : " i pour dettol to make chance not bite the basket. dettol hot right? so chance no bite"
me: "but i want my dettol!"
eni:" you go ask chance lah. he dont let me take. hes sleeping on it right now"
and it goes on. what happens is that i actually go to chance's basket, kneel down beside it. and try to gentally coax him into getting off my dettol. it went something like this
"dear baby, please honey bunny, you HAVE to get off. mummys all sick. ALL SICK.please baby, get off my dettol"
and he looked up at me, all adorable and cutsie, but i still couldnt do anything about it. so i get up and attempt LIFTING him off. but that proved impossible as well.
considering. he is a lil over 7 months, and weighs about 35kg. hey, thats still easy. but when a dog doesnt want to get up, theres just nothing you can do about it. his tiny little body when all stiffende, and pressed upon the basket is a whole 100 newtons. multiply it by his weight and gravitational pull, thats several hundred kgs.
i may be strong
i may be tough
but damn that dog is stubborn.
i have set up the "get kim a new gumpus foundation" anyone who wants to donate, please, pass to someone whos trustworthy to pass to me. this is kim. on her knees, begging for a new gumpus. the labbie just isnt the same. so donate to "get kim a new gumpus foundation"!
