i am officially retiring from being involved in the worship team.
its harrowing
firstly, you have to kick that persons ass real hard. or threathen to or else he'd just sit there saying completely mundane things. like
"you think you so good ah?"
and
"yo mudder so fat. [fill in blanks]"
then. after that, you have to set up the instruments. me, i just stand there. being keyboardist for today. while the worship leader and monica completely panic trying to get the things to work. i usually do that. but as i said. i was playing keyboards today keyboardist just stand around and critisize you see. or stand there messaging. or just stare and roll their eyes. *rolling*
then
comes the actual process of playing. that is something else altogether. for people like ethel and belinda it comes naturally. for ME it takes a great deal of warming up. a whole half an hour per say. and yet. still its terrible.
so really. why do we have to bother?
why do we have to bother to play when the intermediates just stand around., sit around and what shit.
why do we even bother?
like seriously. anyone who answers that question. tell me. boy am i glad i didnt lead today. firstly. half the teachers werent there. so it was pretty quiet. secondly. the guys never sing. and we did "reflector" today. so really. that song sounds better when guys sing it. thirdly. i was the keyboardist.
and that in itself is a catastrophe waiting to happen. and it did.
first song was fine. did a lil' jazzy thing. quite kewl.
then came reflector oh boy. oh boy oh boy oh boy. that was bad.
i played wrong, cos i couldnt hear ethel. eliza dropped the drumstick. and the song was transposed so low ethel couldnt sing it properly. on top of that. the people at the back didnt do ANYTHING to make it easier. you'd think with one of "them" standing there they'd make an effort to help. but really. no. they didnt. so much for calling et a guy man.
i just feel really pissed off right now
