you know, as always. i would LOVE to dwell on my previous entry. but as always, you cant dwell on anything long enough in singapore. it may be because of the following reasons
1)the hectic education system
2)the fact that singapore is so small and so densely polulated.. if you dont hurry and find a seat on the bus you'd NEVER get one
3)because that the way things are in singapore. the more you dwell the mroe you lose... hence the more you think, the faster you go into the institute of mental health.
thats the sad way of life in singapore. has anyone ever noticed? you cant stay on something too long, cos something else will happen.. and you have to focus on it, or YOU LOSE.
i would love to think and rethink and cry over the breaking up of the llamas.. a week and few days left but then. something (URGH) has cropped up. that is.. subject applications. THE single most important decision you have to make in your life besides who to marry. subject applications are important simply because of the following
1)if your darling daughter doesnt get into triple science ah. surely lose face one, haiyah. how to tell that aunty selling fish that my daughter in double science ah? she laugh then my fish price will go up leh!
2)if you dont choose the right combination, no WAY are you ever going to get the job you want. its a sad thing.
3)choosing subjects could mean that you may be put into a different class from your current "go toilet buddies" you will no longer see them, no longer hearing, and no longer go toilet with them. the pressure of getting into the same class, hence same combination is so darned HAUNTING.
from reason (3) is where we observe a very widely cloned species of human beings, the "insecures because these people are likely to go to the toilet often. just to check how they look. or maybe, there are the smarter ones. FIRST go to the toilet... THEN check how the look. ah poor people. too bad that there are so many of them in conformist singapore.hais... its depression. what an asian society can do to the human mind.
so yes. i have decided with the following subjects.
full lit cos i love lit. its the only thing that RALLY and truely work for me!
half geog cos i'm good at geog, just worse at it than lit.
art cos its the OOONNNNLLLLY thing that i can say i have a talent in, besides choosing REALLY nice clothes.
bio cos i dont like physics.
chem we have to take it.. i quite like the idea of getting marks just by blowing things up actually.
"a" math cos i like not ROUTE learning concepts. these are IQ question type math. i may very well be the top for "a" math. ho hum. LUCKY ME.
you guys see something? i'm going to offer THREE humanities... which means i'm applying for double science,double math+3 humans... 9 subjects. i'm going to have to appeal. i'm sure they'd let me in....totally..absolutely..without a doubt
i really really really really hope they let me in.
i so want to do art. but i have no security of doing full art, half lit. cos i still need a geog... or something that will force me to memorise. or my brain would DIE. sigh... 9 subjects.. what am i gonna do?? i've asked mrs CORRINE sim. she said that she'd look over my results. which have been extremely consistent this entire year. except for math. which flactuates from very high.. to very low.. and very very low.
the stress is sometimes intolerable. but BO PIAN lah. this is the singapore. hais. we have singrish ah, must good good use!
